Sophia leaves the waist where it is and widens in one unbroken sweep to the hem. The neckline is cut square, with the corners kept sharp, and the straps are wide, and they carry the weight off the bust. The mikado is a thick silk weave that stands away from the body and keeps its shape. The hem runs out into a chapel train, the shorter of the two usual ones, and the back is half open.
